Hamas announced on Monday that it handed over 13 more hostages to the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) in Gaza, marking the release of the last remaining living captives in their custody. Earlier the same day, the first group of seven Israeli hostages, one soldier captured from his tank and six civilians taken from Gaza-area communities and a music festival, were successfully handed to Israeli authorities in a prisoner swap facilitated by Egypt and Qatar.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu reaffirmed his government’s unwavering commitment to bring back all hostages. Later on Monday, more bodies of deceased hostages are expected, alongside the release of roughly 2,000 Palestinian prisoners from Israeli jails under the ceasefire agreement.
