A 52-year-old Lagos and Onitsha-based businessman, Ejiofor Godwin Emeka, was arrested at Mallam Aminu Kano International Airport after trying to smuggle 127 wraps of cocaine hidden inside his body during a flight from Bangkok. NDLEA operatives, tipped off by intelligence and using body scans, recovered the drugs in stages, 58 wraps from his underwear and 69 more he excreted under observation. Meanwhile, NDLEA also intercepted multiple shipments of various hard drugs bound for international destinations and arrested key traffickers across Nigeria. NDLEA Chairman Brig-Gen Mohamed Buba Marwa praised the officers’ dedication and urged continued vigilance as the agency ramps up its War Against Drug Abuse campaign nationwide.
