The FCT Police Command has arrested 12 suspects connected to the killing of Arise News staff Somtochukwu Christella Maduagwu and security guard Barnabas Danlami during a robbery at Unique Apartments, Abuja. The Special Investigation Team, led by Deputy Commissioner Aliyu Abubakar and supported by the Scorpion Squad, tracked down the gang across three states using digital intelligence.
Recovered weapons include an AK-47, locally made pistols, ammunition, and machetes. The suspects, from Kaduna and Katsina, confessed to several robberies in Abuja and revealed their firearms came from an unknown supplier in Niger Republic. Preliminary findings show one suspect fired the fatal shot that claimed the guard’s life.
