HAPPY HOME ORPHANAGE OWNER SURRENDERS TO NAPTIP AMID CHILD TRAFFICKING PROBE

Mr. Christopher Nwoye, owner of the controversial Happy Home Orphanage in Asaba, Delta, has surrendered to NAPTIP following accusations of housing stolen children from northern Nigeria. The agency uncovered over 70 children during a June raid, including 15 newborns, some traced to Kano and Gombe.

NAPTIP’s Director-General, Hajia Binta Adamu-Bello, confirmed that investigations will now proceed fully, with DNA tests to verify parenthood claims made by women currently under interrogation. She emphasized NAPTIP’s neutrality and assured that the children are safe and not subjected to forced religious conversion.
