A coalition of Civil Society Organisations has taken a stand in Abuja, rallying for the Federal Government to tackle unexplained withdrawals, hidden charges, and malpractice in the banking sector. They believe addressing these issues is key to restoring customer confidence and protecting Nigerians’ hard-earned money.
Ms. Flora Elekwa, director of Mobilisation for the coalition, highlighted numerous complaints from Nigerians across the country and called on authorities, including the Central Bank, to intervene. She cited a recent case involving alleged massive withdrawals from Miden Systems Ltd, which has been officially petitioned for investigation.
The coalition’s peaceful protest aims to draw attention to unfair banking practices and push for systemic reforms to safeguard customer rights and strengthen trust in Nigeria’s financial sector.
