Nigerian youth swimmers break records and dominate the continental stage in Accra.

Nigeria showcased its rising swimming talent at the 2025 Africa Zone 2 Swimming Championship in Ghana, finishing third with 30 medals: 11 gold, 5 silver, and 14 bronze. Fourteen-year-old Aidan Dumuije-Abili was the star, setting five new records and winning six golds, a silver, and a bronze, earning Most Valuable Junior Athlete. Other rising stars included Endurance Olise, Maryam Muhammed, Timilehin Olaya, and Tofunmi Ibidapo, who all captured multiple medals. The senior team also performed well, confirming Nigeria’s growing aquatic prowess and promising future champions.
