Over half are women and youth dominate as Nigeria ramps up voter registration ahead of elections.
INEC says 6.85 million Nigerians have completed pre-online registration for Continuous Voter Registration as of October 5, with women making up 52.23% of the total. Youths aged 18-34 represent the largest group, and students and persons living with disabilities are actively participating. On-site registration has seen over 1.2 million completed registrations, with women again in the majority. INEC emphasizes the continued importance of voter registration in strengthening Nigeria’s democracy.
