Intelligence-led operations foil six UK-bound cocaine shipments hidden in everyday items.
The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) dismantled two major drug syndicates involved in smuggling cocaine concealed in stainless steel cups, body cream, and hair gel containers. Over three weeks of intensive raids in Lagos led to the arrest of six suspects, including kingpin Alhaji Hammed Taofeek Ode, a self-styled businessman and real estate developer. The crackdown began with the interception of 13.4kg of cocaine hidden in cocoa butter body cream at Lagos airport. Further busts seized other consignments, with arrested suspects linked to multiple shipments. NDLEA continues its fight to dismantle drug trafficking networks and protect Nigeria’s security.
