JFI DISOWNS SOUTH-EAST JEWISH GROUP LINKED TO IPOB, REAFFIRMS NON-POLITICAL STANCE

Nigeria’s official Jewish body draws clear line between faith and politics amid controversy.

The Judaism Fellowship Initiative (JFI), Nigeria’s main Jewish community umbrella, has distanced itself from the Eastern Judaism group in the South-East that publicly supported IPOB leader Nnamdi Kanu. JFI President Chief Arthur-Regis Odidika emphasized that JFI is not connected to separatist movements or political causes, despite Kanu professing Judaism. The organization reaffirmed its commitment to peace, unity, and cultural advancement, with an impending visit from Clive Lawton of the Commonwealth Jewish Council to further strengthen Nigerian Judaism.
