POLICE URGED TO ENFORCE TINTED GLASS LAW WITH PROFESSIONALISM IN ONDO, EKITI

AIG Ajani Omolabi warns officers against extortion; motorists must comply or face sanctions.

Assistant Inspector-General Ajani Omolabi, overseeing Ondo and Ekiti, called on police to enforce the tinted glass permit law professionally, warning strict disciplinary action for misconduct. Motorists without permits must register online at possap.gov.ng and complete physical verification at police commands or replace tinted glass with transparent ones to avoid penalties. The enforcement, part of the Motor Vehicle (Prohibition of Tinted Glass) Act 2024, also targets unauthorized use of sirens, revolving lights, and unregistered vehicles, as ordered nationwide by the Inspector-General from October 2, 2025.
