Quick action by Governor Makinde averts healthcare disruption as NMA calls off strike.
The Nigerian Medical Association (NMA) Oyo State chapter has suspended its planned strike initially set for October 2, thanks to Governor Seyi Makinde’s prompt engagement. NMA’s General Secretary, Dr. Tobi Bright, announced that the governor pledged to address critical demands including promotion arrears, minimum wage payment in installments, and hospital governance reforms at LAUTECH Teaching Hospital. The move was praised for preserving healthcare services and fostering better collaboration between the union and government for improved medical care delivery.
