NAFDAC SEALS TWO CHINESE SUPERMARKETS, EIGHT COSMETICS SHOPS IN ABUJA FOR SELLING UNREGISTERED PRODUCTS

Crackdown on unapproved, harmful products worth N170 million protects consumers and public health.

NAFDAC shut down two Chinese-owned supermarkets in Abuja’s Jabi district and eight cosmetics shops at Wuse market following complaints and intelligence reports. The seized goods included unapproved food items labeled only in Chinese, aphrodisiac pills, body enhancement creams, and toxic cosmetics. Officials warned that some sellers falsely posed as doctors and pharmacists. The agency urges Nigerians to buy only registered products to avoid serious health risks and assures continuous enforcement to safeguard public safety.
