IMO GOVERNOR HOPE UZODINMA CANCELS INDEPENDENCE DAY PARADE

Residents urged to celebrate Nigeria’s 65th anniversary quietly with prayers for peace and unity.

Imo State Governor Hope Uzodinma has called off all public activities and parades for Nigeria’s 65th Independence Day anniversary. The state’s Commissioner for Information, Declan Emelumba, advised residents to commemorate the day quietly at home and pray for Nigeria’s progress and unity. Although no reasons were given for the cancellation, the governor will still deliver his Independence Day broadcast as planned. The government wishes all citizens a peaceful and reflective celebration.
