Minister calls for unity and faith in national rebirth during historic celebration.
The Federal Government has declared Wednesday, October 1, 2025, a public holiday to mark Nigeria’s 65th Independence Anniversary. Minister of Interior Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo congratulated Nigerians and urged them to uphold the patriotism, unity, and resilience that have sustained the nation since 1960. He encouraged continued faith in President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda focused on national rebirth and economic transformation. The celebration, themed “Nigeria @ 65: All Hands on Deck for a Greater Nation,” will be low-key, starting with prayers and unveiling of the National Value Charter to foster national pride and responsible citizenship.
