Malala Yousafzai and partners advocate for inclusive education to end barriers for Nigerian girls.
Nobel Laureate Malala Yousafzai, co-founder of the Malala Fund, is driving change in Nigeria by securing gender-responsive policies through local partners. Speaking at a high-level event in Abuja, she highlighted priorities like enabling married and pregnant girls to return to school, increasing education financing, and using education to combat child marriage. With nearly 5 million adolescent girls out of school, Malala praised Nigerian activists’ achievements and stressed the need for collaboration across government and communities. The Fund has invested over $8 million since 2014, aiming for all girls in Nigeria to complete 12 years of quality education.
