Staff withdraw services over stalled salary structure implementation and retirement age policy.
The Academic Staff Union of Polytechnics (ASUP), Nuhu Bamalli Polytechnic chapter in Zaria, Kaduna State, began an indefinite strike Tuesday. Union Chairman Malam Usman Suleiman announced the action follows a failed demand for formal approval of the Polytechnic Salary Structure (CONPCASS/CONTEDISS) and extension of the 65-year retirement age to non-academic staff. Despite talks with the Kaduna government, the union resolved to strike until Governor Uba Sani officially approves the demands, highlighting ongoing salary and welfare concerns.
