UNIBEN THREATENS TO BAR 5,000 STUDENTS FROM EXAMS OVER UNPAID FEES

No payment, no exam—UNIBEN enforces strict policy ahead of second semester tests.

Over 5,000 University of Benin students face being barred from exams starting Monday, Sept. 29, for failing to pay school charges or access the Nigerian Education Students’ Loan Fund (NELFUND). Registrar Ademola Bobola warned that despite repeated reminders, many students ignored payment deadlines. The university’s strict “no payment, no exam” rule will be enforced, with lists of defaulters published for last-minute compliance. A task force led by the Deputy Vice Chancellor (Academic) will monitor adherence, as the institution pushes to maintain its academic standards.
