After safety checks, Abuja-Kaduna trains back on track starting Oct. 1 with new maintenance schedule.

The Nigerian Railway Corporation has announced the resumption of passenger services on the Abuja–Kaduna corridor effective Wednesday, October 1. Following the August 26 derailment incident, the NRC completed all safety and operational checks and expressed appreciation for passengers’ patience. Every Wednesday is now designated for scheduled maintenance to ensure smooth, reliable, and secure service. Passengers affected by the previous accident have been refunded or offered free rides until year-end. Timetables show morning departures from Abuja to Kaduna and afternoon returns, highlighting NRC’s commitment to safe, affordable, and customer-friendly rail travel.
