PENGASSAN DEMANDS REINSTATEMENT OF 800+ NIGERIAN WORKERS SACKED BY DANGOTE REFINERY

Union slams refinery for replacing Nigerians with foreign nationals, threatens legal action.

The Petroleum and Natural Gas Senior Staff Association of Nigeria (PENGASSAN) has issued a stern ultimatum to Dangote Refinery to recall over 800 Nigerian workers allegedly dismissed and replaced by foreign nationals, mainly Indians. The union condemned the mass termination as anti-labour and contrary to Nigerian laws, highlighting that some foreign workers lack valid immigration documents. PENGASSAN warned that failure to reinstate the terminated workers will prompt legal action and called on Nigerians to support the struggle against what it describes as “slave labour.”
