Stronger ties ahead as Nigeria and the UK commit to collaboration and youth empowerment.
At a bilateral meeting in New York, Vice President Kashim Shettima and UK Deputy Prime Minister David Lammy pledged to strengthen cooperation across defence, trade, migration, and cybersecurity. Shettima also spoke at the UNICEF-hosted Global Leadership Council Meeting, highlighting Nigeria’s focus on leveraging digital opportunities to engage youth and empower women key pillars of President Tinubu’s inclusive administration.
The leaders agreed that this expanded partnership will also target innovative solutions to shared challenges like economic development and climate change, ensuring that cooperation benefits not just governments but communities, particularly vulnerable groups such as young people and women across both nations.
