TRIBUTE TO LATE SOLOMON ARASE: LEGENDARY I-G CELEBRATED FOR INTEGRITY AND SERVICE

Nigeria’s police family honors a disciplined, humane leader who left a lasting legacy.

Inspector-General of Police Olukayode Egbetokun and former I-Gs gathered in Abuja to pay tribute to Solomon Arase, highlighting his exceptional blend of intellect, discipline, and humanism since joining the police in 1981. Arase moved steadily through the ranks, serving with quiet confidence and a genuine desire to improve the force. He was appointed the 18th indigenous I-G in 2015 and represented Nigeria internationally in UN peacekeeping missions.

Arase was unique in serving as Principal Staff Officer to three consecutive I-Gs, earning respect for his loyalty, integrity, and dedication to duty. He also founded the Dr. Solomon Arase Foundation to support the needy, reflecting his benevolent spirit. Former colleagues praised his commitment to reforms, mentorship, and the dignity he brought to policing.

His passing is seen as a profound loss to the Nigeria Police Force and the nation, but his legacy of excellence, leadership, and compassion continues to inspire young officers and Nigerians alike. The tributes underscore a life well lived, dedicated to public service and uplifting others.
