CHINA TO BUILD AFRICA’S FIRST INSULIN PRODUCTION FACILITY IN NIGERIA

Nigeria set to become a medical biotech hub with China’s groundbreaking local insulin project.

Chinese Ambassador Yu Dunhai announced plans to establish Africa’s first local insulin production facility in Nigeria, aiming to end reliance on imports and improve diabetes care. Speaking at China’s 76th National Day reception in Abuja, Yu highlighted this project alongside other China-Nigeria collaborations like the Abuja Water Supply Project benefiting millions. He also celebrated cultural ties, including Nigeria adding Chinese to its secondary school curriculum, strengthening bilateral friendship.

Senate Deputy President Barau Jibrin praised the deepening Nigeria-China partnership, underscoring achievements in infrastructure, energy, agriculture, and trade. He reaffirmed legislative backing for transparent, sustainable cooperation that delivers tangible benefits to Nigerians for generations to come.
