UN URGES NIGERIA TO FULLY IMPLEMENT DISABILITY ACT FOR INCLUSION

UN calls for bold action to protect rights and dignity of 35 million Nigerians with disabilities.

At a stakeholder meeting in Abuja, UN Coordinator Muhamed Fall stressed the need to move from law to action on Nigeria’s Disability Act, aligning with UN disability rights frameworks. Despite some progress, more effort is needed to remove barriers and embed inclusion in policies and programs nationwide. Government and disability advocates were urged to prioritize real change for meaningful inclusion.
