Federal Government intensifies push for affordable food through targeted transport reforms and food sovereignty vision.
President Tinubu has mandated a Federal Executive Council committee to drive down food prices nationwide by ensuring safe, efficient passage of farm produce across transport routes. Minister Sen. Sabi Abdullahi highlighted this effort as central to achieving food sovereignty, alongside upcoming programs like the Farmer Soil Health Scheme and cooperative reforms. The government aims to reduce high transport costs that inflate food prices while boosting sustainable food availability and affordability.
