SENATOR AKPOTI-UDUAGHAN BARRED FROM RESUMING DUTIES PENDING COURT APPEAL

National Assembly cites pending legal case, refuses to allow suspended senator back despite end of six-month ban.

The Acting Clerk of the National Assembly, Dr. Yahaya Danzaria, informed Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan that no administrative action will be taken on her September 4 resumption notification due to an ongoing Court of Appeal case. Akpoti-Uduaghan was suspended on March 6 for alleged gross misconduct but insists her suspension has ended. The Assembly awaits the court’s final judgment before any decision.
