Security analyst Dr. Bulama Bukarti dismissed former Kaduna governor Nasir El-Rufai’s claims that the Federal Government pays ransom or supplies armed groups as “politics without truth.” Bukarti clarified that ransom is typically raised by victims’ families, not the government, and stressed that Nigeria’s insecurity stems largely from systemic corruption.
