African statesmen and global experts unite to tackle democracy’s challenges under the theme “Why Democracies Die.”
The Goodluck Jonathan Foundation’s 2025 Democracy Dialogue, set for Sept. 17 in Accra, Ghana, will gather leaders like Ghanaian President John Mahama, former Nigerian President Olusegun Obasanjo, and ECOWAS officials. Co-hosted with the Ghanaian government, the event will explore democratic progress and threats in Africa. Obasanjo will chair, with Bishop Matthew Kukah delivering the keynote. This marks the fourth annual discourse assessing democracy’s impact in the sub-region.
