New vaccine rollout aims to protect millions of women aged 9-45 against HPV-related cancers.
China began administering its homegrown nine-valent HPV vaccine in Xiamen, targeting females aged 9 to 45 for enhanced cervical cancer prevention. Two doses are required for ages 9-17, and three for adults up to 45. Cervical cancer, linked to HPV, affects hundreds of thousands globally each year. The vaccine is 94% effective when properly given, marking a major step in cancer prevention.
