Nigeria boosts air traffic safety and efficiency with modernised global-standard communication network.
John Tayo, NAMA’s Director of Air Traffic Services, announced the installation of a new Aeronautical Fixed Telecommunication Network (AFTN) using advanced satellite facilities across 26 airports. The upgrade enhances reliable, rapid transmission of flight plans, meteorological data, and urgent messages, strengthening Nigeria’s integration into global aviation. A recent workshop equipped staff to maintain and optimise the system, reinforcing NAMA’s commitment to safe, efficient air navigation.
