When it comes to beating corruption, communication is key – and yesterday’s Abuja roundtable proved Nigeria’s info chiefs mean business.
On Wednesday, September 3, Abuja hosted a powerful gathering where the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) teamed up with key figures in the information sector to tighten Nigeria’s anti-corruption narrative. The roundtable, organized by the ICPC, focused on strategically integrating State Commissioners of Information into the national fight against corruption.
Top players on the frontlines included the Minister of Information and National Orientation, Alhaji Mohammed Idris; Special Adviser to the President on Public Communication and Orientation, Mr. Sunday Dare; and ICPC Chairman, Dr. Musa Aliyu. House Committee on Anti-Corruption Chairman, Prince Kayode Akiolu, also lent his voice to the discussions aimed at shaping a unified agenda.
By putting state communication chiefs at the heart of the strategy, the ICPC hopes to amplify transparency and sink corrupt practices faster.
