FG REMOVES CNG SUBSIDIES

The Nigerian government has pulled the plug on subsidies for Compressed Natural Gas (CNG), nearly doubling prices and stirring frustration nationwide. After pushing CNG as a cheaper fuel alternative—with tax breaks, credit facilities, and major infrastructure moves—the recent subsidy cuts are hitting converted vehicle owners hard.

Motorists now face higher costs and long queues at scarce stations, while analysts warn this move could fuel inflation and strain the fragile economy further. Though the government says the decision is necessary and permanent, Nigerians are left to juggle economic reforms with everyday survival.
