KWARA LAUNCHES RESMAT TO SAVE MOTHERS AND NEWBORNS IN RURAL AREAS

Kwara’s new emergency transport programme aims to end delays in maternal and newborn care.

Kwara Government introduced the Rural Emergency Services and Maternal Transport (RESMAT) in Moro LGA to ensure timely, free emergency care and transport for pregnant women and newborns. Health Commissioner Dr. Amina El-Imam and RESMAT Coordinator Dr. Arigidi highlighted efforts to tackle delays at home, en route, and in facilities, while enrolling mothers in free national health insurance post-delivery. Local leaders urge women to use government health services for safer births.
