NO BINDING DEAL YET WITH ASUU, GOVT SEEKS LASTING SOLUTION — EDUCATION MINISTER

Clarifying confusion, Minister Tunji Alausa says talks with ASUU are ongoing for a solid, actionable agreement to end strikes for good.

Minister of Education Dr. Tunji Alausa stressed there’s no signed binding agreement with ASUU—only a draft. The government is focused on a sustainable deal backed by the constitution, aimed at keeping Nigerian students in school. A high-level meeting involving multiple ministries and agencies reviewed ASUU’s proposals for a comprehensive report that will feed into negotiations.

The government promises transparency and real implementation this time, with the Ministry of Justice ensuring legal compliance throughout.
