Sending parcels from Nigeria to the US just got costlier—NIPOST enforces new $80 customs charge amid global policy change.
Nigerian Postal Service declared that from August 29, all non-document postal items headed to the US will incur an $80 prepaid customs duty, following a new U.S. Executive Order ending duty-free exemptions. The fee must be paid upfront at Nigerian postal outlets. NIPOST warned of potential delays due to heightened inspections but is working with international agencies to reduce disruption.
