CSO DEMANDS JUSTICE & SUPPORT FOR SEXUAL ABUSE SURVIVORS IN NIGERIA

Talk Initiative calls for urgent action to break the cycle of sexual abuse, backing Hadiza Baffa’s fight against impunity and demanding accountability.

At a press briefing in Abuja, Talk Initiative urged the government, security agencies, and civil society to protect survivors of sexual violence, highlighting the case of Hadiza Baffa, who accuses former Minister Kabiru Turaki of assault and intimidation. The group stressed the need for independent court oversight, survivor protection, and psychosocial support to aid healing.

While Turaki denies the allegations, the CSO insists Hadiza’s case exposes systemic abuse of power and calls on all stakeholders to dismantle barriers blocking justice for survivors nationwide.
