ASUU KANO URGES GOVT TO SPEED UP RENEGOTIATION OF 2009 AGREEMENT

ASUU Kano warns of looming crisis as lecturers demand overdue salary reviews, arrears payment, and better university funding.

At a press briefing, ASUU Kano Coordinator Abdulkadir Muhammad called for urgent action on the 2009 ASUU-FGN Agreement. Key issues include unpaid salary and promotion arrears, victimization of members, and refusal to remit third-party deductions. He stressed that neglect over 16 years has demoralized lecturers and endangered university stability.

Muhammad also raised alarm over worsening insecurity, poverty, and kidnappings across Nigeria, urging governments to protect citizens’ lives and properties.
