UN CONDEMNS KILLING OF FIVE PALESTINIAN JOURNALISTS IN GAZA, CALLS FOR JUSTICE

The UN human rights office (OHCHR) condemned the killing of five Palestinian journalists in Gaza by Israeli strikes on Nasser Hospital, bringing the total journalist deaths since October to 247. The journalists worked for major outlets like AP, Al Jazeera, and Reuters, highlighting the urgent need for accountability and protection of media workers under international law.

OHCHR criticized attacks on hospitals and journalists as unacceptable and urged thorough investigations with real results. UNESCO also condemned the killings, stressing press freedom and providing emergency support to journalists in Gaza. Israeli PM Netanyahu called the incident a “tragic mishap” and promised a military probe.
