A train heading to Abuja derailed around 11:09 AM today near Kilometre 49 between Kubwa and Asham stations. The Nigerian Railway Corporation, led by MD Kayode Opeifa, says emergency rescue teams, medical staff, and military officials are already on scene.
Security forces are managing the situation, working to safely return all passengers to Abuja, however, no casualty details have been shared yet. This follows a similar derailment on the Abuja-Kaduna route back in May 2024.
