TINUBU PRAISES NIGERIAN ARMED FORCES AT TICAD 9; JAPAN PLEDGES $5.5BN FOR AFRICA

President Bola Tinubu lauded Nigeria’s armed forces for their bravery against insurgency at TICAD 9 in Japan, emphasising that true peace needs reforms that tackle insecurity’s root causes. He stressed inclusivity, rule of law, and infrastructure investment as keys to stability.

Tinubu urged Africa to move from aid dependency to market-driven growth and called for UN Security Council reforms for African representation. Japanese Prime Minister Shigeru Ishiba pledged $5.5 billion to support Africa’s sustainable growth through private sector investment, focusing on youth empowerment and regional integration.
