Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Amb. Bianca Odumegwu-Ojukwu, reaffirmed Nigeria’s readiness to strengthen collaboration with the International Organisation for Migration (IOM) in managing migration challenges. She highlighted Nigeria’s 4-D foreign policy—Democracy, Demography, Diaspora, and Development—focused on citizen diplomacy and the welfare of over 17 million Nigerians abroad.
Odumegwu-Ojukwu praised IOM’s work on protecting vulnerable migrants, responding to displacement crises like flooding in Niger state, and managing irregular migration with EU support. IOM’s Deputy Director-General, Ugochi Daniels, underscored Nigeria’s leading role in assisted migrant returns and reintegration.
