PROF. IDIA IZE-IYAMU MAKES HISTORY AS FIRST FEMALE CMD OF UBTH

Prof. Idia Ize-Iyamu took office as the first female Chief Medical Director of the University of Benin Teaching Hospital (UBTH), and its first dentist CMD in 52 years. She pledged leadership rooted in compassion, innovation, and excellence, unveiling “UBTH CARES” — focusing on Care, Advancement, Revitalization, Employee welfare, and Sustainability.

Ize-Iyamu emphasized patient dignity, staff welfare, infrastructure renewal, and digitization, thanking President Tinubu and Health Minister Muhammad Ali Pate for the appointment. Her arrival sparked jubilation with cultural dances and cheers from staff and students.
