The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in Kogi is battling severe traffic gridlock on the Lokoja-Abuja road, worsened by motorists’ impatience and vehicle breakdowns. Since Sunday, the single-lane construction stretch from Ogbobo/Ozi to Murtala Mohammed Bridge at Koton-Karfe has been jammed, forcing some travelers to spend up to nine hours on the road.
FRSC Sector Commander Kumar Tsukwam urges drivers to cooperate, blaming their impatience for blocking opposing traffic and prolonging the chaos. Commuters call for urgent action as fuel costs soar and travel delays continue.
