KANO POLICE DETAIN 288 SUSPECTED THUGS AMID BY-ELECTION VIOLENCE

Kano State Police have arrested 288 suspected thugs disrupting the by-elections in Bagwai/Shanono and Ghari/Tsanyawa constituencies, which are held to replace the late Assembly member Halilu Kundila. Police Commissioner Alhaji Ibrahim Bakori revealed that the violent tactics, including voter intimidation with weapons, scared many eligible voters from participating.

Despite the unrest, security agencies are working hard to restore order and identify those behind the thuggery, including potential election candidates. Residents are reassured of their safety and urged to cooperate with law enforcement.
