Governor Francis Nwifuru of Ebonyi has honoured Blessing Ejifor, star centre of Nigeria’s D’Tigress basketball team, with ₦30 million, a duplex home, and induction into the Ebonyi Hall of Fame. At a reception in Abakiliki, Nwifuru also announced ₦50 million funding to build a standard basketball court to nurture young talents ahead of the next season.
Ejifor, a key player in Nigeria’s fifth consecutive FIBA Women’s AfroBasket win, boasts an impressive career with collegiate accolades and international stints, including representing Nigeria at the 2024 Paris Olympics.
