Plan International Nigeria and the Nigeria Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ) have teamed up to strengthen advocacy and capacity building for women’s rights and youth groups in Bauchi and Sokoto. Through their new MoU, they’ll drive the ASPIRE project, aiming to impact 20 million girls over five years by tackling barriers to sexual and reproductive health and promoting gender equality in decision-making.
Dr. Helen Idiong of Plan International emphasizes that empowering girls by removing poverty, discrimination, and patriarchy will enrich families and the nation. NAWOJ’s president, Aisha Ibrahim, highlights the partnership as a powerful move to amplify girls’ voices and uphold their rights, ensuring local women tell their stories authentically.
