Over 130 golfers, including 60 women and 70 men, have arrived in Akure for the 10th Ladies Golf Association of Nigeria (LGAN) Western Zone Golf Championship at Crosscreek Golf Club. The four-day event, themed “Golfing with the Stars,” aims to encourage more women into golf while promoting fitness, stress relief, and mental wellness.
The tournament kicks off Friday with ladies of handicap 0–28 taking the tee, followed by cultural and social events. The weekend features competitions, a disco night, and concludes Sunday with finals and an awards ceremony. Organizers praise Ondo state’s support, emphasizing golf’s role in uniting communities, boosting the economy, promoting tourism, and environmental awareness.
