A looming strike by the Natural Oil and Gas Suppliers Association of Nigeria (NOGASA), which threatened to cut diesel supplies to telecom sites nationwide and cause a major communication blackout, has been successfully halted thanks to swift intervention by the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) and the Office of the National Security Adviser (ONSA).
Under NSA Nuhu Ribadu’s leadership, strategic talks convinced stakeholders to suspend the industrial action, safeguarding vital telecom infrastructure essential for the economy, security, and everyday connectivity. NCC vows continued collaboration and strict enforcement to protect these national assets and calls on Nigerians to value telecom networks as critical for digital progress.
