German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier set sail aboard the historic training ship Gorch Fock to launch the Sail Bremerhaven 2025 festival, thrilling thousands of spectators along the Bremerhaven waterfront. As the official patron, Steinmeier will formally open this massive five-day maritime event, featuring a parade led by Alexander von Humboldt II and followed by a stunning fleet of tall ships.
This international gathering, held every five years since 1986, expects around 250 vessels from 16 nations and up to 1.2 million visitors, making it one of the world’s largest tall ship festivals under sunny skies.
