FUEL CONSUMPTION DROPS TO 1.44 BILLION LITRES IN JUNE, NMDPRA REPORTS

The Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NMDPRA) reports a 16.4% drop in fuel consumption for June 2025, with total evacuation falling to about 1.44 billion litres. Despite a slight 1.7% rise in diesel supply, overall distribution—including diesel truck-out, household kerosene, and automotive gasoline—declined sharply. Gasoline supply took the biggest hit, dropping nearly 48% from May.

Lagos led fuel receipt with over 205 million litres, followed by Ogun and the FCT. The figures highlight ongoing struggles in fuel distribution, but NMDPRA promises to strengthen supply chains and ensure steady delivery nationwide.
