Following a brutal armed assault that left five dead—including a police officer—in Babanla, Kwara State has boosted security to prevent further violence. Hundreds of gunmen on motorcycles attacked the police station and marketplace, but joint efforts by police, military, vigilantes, and hunters restored order swiftly.
Kwara’s Police Commissioner, CP Adekimi Ojo, and the DSS Director visited the town to assess the security situation, promising sustained patrols, intelligence collaboration, and specialized tracking units until the attackers are caught. Residents are urged to stay vigilant and report any trustworthy information to aid the manhunt.
